HP Procurve 4000m/8000m and security features
Since the HP Procurve 4000/8000 series switches do not support SSH, SSL, RADIUS, and 802.1x. I am wondering if HP is doing any R&D to get these switches more secure. It would be nice to get these switches to do at least ssh and ideal to participate with the other switch series to have a secure environment and not have to ripe and replace.

Re: HP Procurve 4000m/8000m and security features
If I remember well, HP has quit manufacturing 4000/8000 series switches (they only seem to make and sell spare parts - but not engineer e.g. new modules), so there are slim chances that they release firmware having new features: most likely there's going to be releases of firmware that remedy problems as they are discovered. For the time being, the software for this set of switches (C.09.22) is stable - at least I do not have any problems with this hardare&software configuration for any of my 4000/8000 switches.

Re: HP Procurve 4000m/8000m and security features
I have to agree that the HP 4000m switches are quite stable with the C9.22 firmware. I just want to take advantage of some of the higher function of my other switches and the 4000m's will be the weak points of my infrastructure.
