So I tried the LAN Monitor Commands:
hp 1 = doesn't work
jp 2 = doesn't work
speed 115200 = doesn't workdo
do = You have invoked the console download utility.
Do you wish to continue? (Y/N)>
But the xmodem menu doesn't show after I entered the command and pressed "Y" to confirm. After half a minute an error-message appears: ERROR: Download was unsuccessful. Rx failed @ffffffff
Bye the way: speed 115200 doens't work
Is there any advice to fix the problem?

Re: HP2920 - Bad code in FLASH
Hello,
Alex provided the correct procedure for uploading a firmware image using the Xmodem.
But in some cases this error is displayed when the boot.ini file of the switch is corrupt. You can try to delete the file with this command.
=>rm cfa0/boot.ini
And then boot the switch from either primary or secondary
=>jp1
or
=>jp2
The switch will create a new boot.ini file after booting.

Re: HP2920 - Bad code in FLASH
Hello Transmitter,
You have to change the terminal software rate to 115200 also after it is changed on the switch.
Please check if you are doing this too.
Hope this helps!

Re: HP2920 - Bad code in FLASH
Hello Alex,
my steps so far:
Connect to console (Micro-USB) @ 9600
=> sp 115200
Reconnect to console (Micro-USB) @ 115500
=> do
You have invoked the console download utility.
Do you wish to continue? (Y/N)
Press y (nothing appears, you can't see the "y")
After a short while the following message appears: "ERROR: Download was unsuccessful. Rx failed @ffffffff"
Any ideas are welcome.

Re: HP2920 - Bad code in FLASH
Hello
Regarding this statement:
You have invoked the console download utility.
Do you wish to continue? (Y/N)
Press y (nothing appears, you can't see the "y")
If I am not wrong you are from Germany.A German keyboard has the character y where you have z in the English keyboard. If you enter z instead of y nothing will be displayed. So maybe you can make sure that you are pressing y and not z.

Re: HP2920 - Bad code in FLASH
Hello Emil,
you are right, I am from Germany. I already had this idea with the swapped letters so I tested it several times. Apart from the y, no other entries are accepted at prompt. Also no z or other. Case sensitive doens't help neigher.

Re: HP2920 - Bad code in FLASH
Hello Transmitter,
You may try disabling firewall. This should not be blocking from the firewall as this is different transfer but may check if there could be something that stops the transfer.

Re: HP2920 - Bad code in FLASH
Hallo @Transmitter
Do I understand correctly that you are still unable to start the Console Download with =>do, even if you press the correct key?
I have no other ideas how this can be resolved. Maybe you can try to use a different Terminal Emulator. If you are using HyperTerminal now you can try with Tera Term Pro which also supports Xmodem transfers.
Maybe it would be good to see if the flash can display the content which is needed for booting. Change directory to the flash partition
=>cd cfa0
And try to list all the files and directories with ls or ll
=>ls
You should be able to see primary and secondary.swi images, boot.ini file, mgr.info, config files, crash files and many other files. If you cannot see anything there may be a problem with flash.

Hello Alex,
even if the firewall is switched off, the Y appears on the prompt nor does another dialog open.

Re: HP2920 - Bad code in FLASH
Hi Emil,
yes you are understand correctly that I am still unable to start the Console Download with =>do, even if I press the correct key (y).
I used different Terminal Emulators already. Neither putty nor Terra Team are able to start the download procedure.
If I chancge the directory by using =>cd cfa0 there aren't no primary and secondary *.swi images. That's why I can't select theses files in the as a boot profile.
By using =>cd cfa0 and the =>ls the return is:
boot.ini
ssh/
core/
rbtcnt
cfg/
crash/
iflags
ssl/
revCntHis
autorun/
mgrinfo.txt
No *.swi available = no boot. Right?

Re: HP2920 - Bad code in FLASH
Hallo,
Yes, it looks there are no SW images in flash. Here is what I see on a working switch. You are also missing some other files and folders.
=>ls cfa0/
boot.ini
secondary.swi
primary.swi
ssh/
core/
rbtcnt
cfg/
crash/
dumpM1.cor
ssl/
revCntHis
autorun/
err_triage
tr69_db
stack.dat
tmp/
last_login
tr69_log
icl_log.txt.old
dump_1.cor
backup/
iflags
tr69_status
mgrinfo.txt
I think the best way to proceed would be to open a case with the support. Make sure that you provide a good summary with all your steps, screenshot of error messages and all your attempts to recover the switch. The switch has life time warranty.
