Lucent Win Modem
My old computer which had a different modem let me know when someone was calling me showing the name and phone # and asking me if i wanted to accept the call or not. Yhis new modem in my recently purchased hp pavillion does not recieve the calls. Is this the modem, is there any upgrade i can download because i would like to recieve the calls.

Could be you had a v92 modem standard which will let you see who is calling and let you take the call for up to 4 minutes you must have call options set with you Telephone company which cost extra.
The new modem you have installed could or could not have the V92 standard to see if it does go to control panel then to the yellow modem open this and you will see a tab on the right called dianostics click on this tab highlight the com port you modem is on and hit more info this will send AT comands to the modem scroll down and look for the V92 standard if you have this you can call your phone company to set it up for the options you had before.
