Microsoft Internet Authentication service for 802.1x and vlan
Hello,
Am playing with setting up 802.1x authentication on my switched network and using a Microsoft Internet Authentication server as the Radius server. I am setting it up as per the Microsoft ias_vlans.pdf, http://www.celestix.com/products/radius/resources/ias_vlans.pdf, document but it is asking for one piece of information that I cannot find for my HP 2524 switch. The info I am missing is what Microsoft IAS calls the "Tunnel-Tag". Anyone know what HP calls this information and where I might find it? Thanks

Re: Microsoft Internet Authentication service for 802.1x and vlan

Re: Microsoft Internet Authentication service for 802.1x and vlan
Are you trying to get this info from the client connected to your switch? or your the switch itself? rfc2868 (http://rfc2868.x42.com) and the release notes for the 2524 latest web software release (ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/networking/software/Release-Note-F-05-34-59903102-0505.pdf Configuring Switch Ports as 802.1X Authenticators ... 29 ) should hopefully get you what you need to configure 802.1x authentication for your environment.

Re: Microsoft Internet Authentication service for 802.1x and vlan
Thanks for the info. The Tunnel-Tag information is for the Microsoft IAS server itself. This info is entered into the profile information which will be pushed down to the switch port, info like Vlan number, etc. If you look at the IAS_VLAN document on Page 9 explains the profile setup.
