PCM/Switch log question
If a port has historical errors from a duplex mismatch or other condition which have now been fixed, because the statistics can't be cleared permenantly without a reboot the switch will keep logging that port as having errors. Those errors are then reported in PCM.
Is there a way to overcome this without having to reboot the switches? I'd like to use the event logs in PCM to clean up our network but this will be awkward if the logs contain 'noise' from problems that no longer exist.
Thanks,
Jason

Re: PCM/Switch log question
Hi Jason,
- You can use PCM Preferences->Events->Ignored Events
to ignore new events if they appear in the list for some devices if applicable
- You can select and delete existing events from Event Browser
Hope it helps.

Re: PCM/Switch log question
Does PCM remember the ports you've acknowledged or dismissed to stop them appearing in the event logs again? I'd prefer not to ignore the events but we have some ports which we know are set to 10half or clocking up errors but don't want to be kept informed of them.

Re: PCM/Switch log question
To clear the coubters you could send reload requests to all switches from inside PCM during off-hours, when nobody is supposed to workout the network. Of course, I would make sure that the startup configs are the same with the running configs before sending the reload requests.
