ProCurve switch 2626
Hello,
I bought Procurve switch - 2626 before one week and when I connect to port 4 server, server is packetlossing and switch´s writing to event log:
W 04/30/06 00:20:12 FFI: port 4-Excessive CRC/alignment errors. See help.
W 04/30/06 00:22:07 FFI: port 4-Excessive CRC/alignment errors. See help.
W 04/30/06 00:24:03 FFI: port 4-Excessive CRC/alignment errors. See help.
W 04/30/06 00:26:09 FFI: port 4-Excessive CRC/alignment errors. See help.
W 04/30/06 00:28:04 FFI: port 4-Excessive CRC/alignment errors. See help.
And in telnet - Status and Counters - Port Counters is port 4 with too many "Errors RX".
In details is:
too many FCS Rx errors and some Aligment Rx errors.
When I reconnect cable from port 4 to other port, everything is OK. Where could be a problem? Is switch faulted ?

Re: ProCurve switch 2626
HI
Since other ports are ok, i think port ethernet 4 has a mismatch in half/full duplex operation, check other ports duplex configuration.

Re: ProCurve switch 2626
It could be a marginal cable as well. Try another cable on port 4 and also try rebooting the switch. Somtimes a port may partially partition on high errors and only resume on a reboot. You may have discharged static into the port.
