QOS on 5300

I have two sites, both using 802.1p QoS priority tagged vlans. The link between the two sites will be routed. Am I correct in thinking on the 5300 I need to map the vlan priority tag to a DSCP value when the traffic traverses the routed link, then on the other side revert back to a vlan priority tag?

If so, do I have to do anything other than enable QoS? Can I leave all else on defaults? I've been looking through the Advanced traffic management pdf but as you can guess, I'm a little confused! :)
