Hi all,
I have a problem with a Compaq Presario Notebook Model 12XL103. My O/S is Windows 98 and I have 128 MB of Ram.
Just lately I have been getting the following error message on Start up :
Resource conflict - PCI on Motherboard
Bus: 00 Device: 09 Function: 00
With the option of pressing either F1 to Boot
or F10 to enter Computer Setup.
The effect of this error is that 9 times out of 10 my Modem ports cannot be opened by Windows and the Modem is not listed in Device Manager. I have to Restart several times until it appears in Device Manager and I can do a diagnostic test.
I have reinstalled Windows in the hope that any corrupt files may be replaced, but the problem is still there.
The BIOS is set to default.
The Bios is Phoenix 4.0 Release 6.0
BIOS Version 0F20
With a note "System configuration data updated".
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard
Thanks Ron,
I replaced the RTC battery and that fixed the problem.
Cheers.
