Some questions on features of HP Procurve 2510
Good afternoon,
I would like to know whether following situations can be handled by a HP Procurve 2510:
- Configure the switch so that when machine1 is not reachable (network), ALL traffic is automatically redirected to stand by machine machine2.
- Configure the switch so that when machine1 is reachable but a defined port is closed, ALL traffic is automatically redirected to stand by machine machine2.
I am convinced that the first will be feasible, but I have doubts concerning the second.
Can anybody help?
Thanks
Dominique

Re: Some questions on features of HP Procurve 2510
Hi Dominique
The switch itself doesn't have this kind of standby capabilites. If you're for example talking about duplicating a server this way, you would configure that on the server, not on the switch.
