Spanning Tree and PXE Boot issues

Hi everyone,

I have a Windows 2003 Domain controller with Windows deployment / DHCP Server services.

A Procurve 2824 'core' switch is performing routing between vlans (2524 switch). RSTP protocol is enabled on all switches.

On new HP PC's, I press F12, PXE boot starts, PC receives DHCP address and then returns:

PXE-E51: No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received.

Is this a timeout issue or is this post on the right track: ???

Receiving the DHCP address is a good start but as the post you reference states there can be muliple reasons for other problems. I guess the first thing would be is to check the PXE server to see if it saw the request to load the system. The problem can be the PXE itself or other network problems.

Is the PXE server also on the same server as the DHCP server else add that server also in the switch.

Well its all working ...I removed the DHCP PXE 060 server option, added 066 and 067 and presto! PXE boots into 16-bit DOS app and the image chooser was available.
