Stack member lost messages on Procurve 2824

I recently started work on an installed system that uses stacked Procurve 2824 switches, with one commander and one member. On the commander I am periodically (a few times a day) seeing messages like the following in the event log:

ports: port 23 is Blocked by STP
FFI: Stack member XXXXXX-XXXXXX lost.
ports: port 23 is now on-line

The three messages appear in the space of 1 second or so. I'm new to stacked switches like this, so I'm just wondering if this is normal or if there could be an issue. The times I see this message do not seem to correlate to any events on the member switch, nor any events on the system in general that I can tell.

Thoughts?

Blocked by STP ?
i wondering this log means your network maybe get the loop.
can you show your layout?
like this commander port24 to member port23..
or you get two link connection between commander and member?

Port 23 on the commander is connected to port 23 on the member, and port 24 on the commander is connected to port 24 on the member.

Re: Stack member lost messages on Procurve 2824

yeap, so you get the network loop.
you should configt two port to one trunk link.
such as: trunk 23-24 trunk trk1
the same configaration in member switch.

good luck
