BGP Configuration on a HP A3100-16 v2 EI (JD319B) Switch
Hi all,
i'm looking some guidance how to configure BGP on a HP A3100-16 v2 EI Switch. I'm looking on the documentation of the Switch but i can't find anything about BGP configuration. The basic commands for the bgp doesn't seem to work.
Do i have to enable something in order to access the bgp commands?
Thank you for your time.

Re: BGP Configuration on a HP A3100-16 v2 EI (JD319B) Switch
Hi @c0nBSP !
According QuickSpecs https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/getdocument.aspx?docname=c04111573 this model doesn't support BGP.
All Comware-based switches, no matter Comware 5 or 7 comes with all features unlocked, there is no need to activate or unlock any feature in order to configure it. Just a hint - if after entering 'system-view' mode you don't see 'bgp' command (hit a '?' button to get the list of commands available) it means there is no BGP support. This approach works for all features.

Re: BGP Configuration on a HP A3100-16 v2 EI (JD319B) Switch
Hello @Ivan_B,
I checked these specs too to be honest.
The odd thing is this switch seems to worked before with BGP. We had to reset it because the switch started to send BPDU packets. We didn't had the passwords in order to reconfigure it.
Is this possible? The company that we want to connect have assigned us a IPv4 and IPv6, 2 VLANS for peering and a private AS-Number.
Thanks!
Edit: Also, thanks for the tip!

Re: BGP Configuration on a HP A3100-16 v2 EI (JD319B) Switch
Seems like static IPv4/IPv6 routing is the most sophisticated routing type this device supports. You can check the latest IP Routing Configuriation Guide for your swtich here - https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=c04342021 No mention for BGP, OSPF, IS-IS... Maybe you had another BGP peer connected through this switch, that is possible, but I know absolutely no way to force this 3100v2 to "speak" BGP (-:
