HP 2530-48G-PoEP Switch - high memory and losing remote access
Hi
We have started using a lot of these switches as well as the 24 port model.
After a few months the memory stats look high and we lose remote access via SSH
Is this a known issue on firmware version YA.16.06.0006?
Have other people had the same issue?
Thanks
Nick

Re: HP 2530-48G-PoEP Switch - high memory and losing remote access
Hello,
Can you share 'Show sys information' command output?
Please remove unwanted log files from flash.
I am not seeing exact bug related to memory however the device is running on 3year old software so its always advisable to upgrade the device to latest version.
Have you removed and re-applied ACLs repeatedly?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: HP 2530-48G-PoEP Switch - high memory and losing remote access
The HP 2530 isn't Layer 3 capable thus ACLs shouldn't chime in...if I were you I will update it to latest YA.16.10 available before starting diagnosing high memory or high CPU loads (IIRC the YA.16.10.0013 is the most updated one available at present date, Release Notes here).
I'm not an HPE Employee

Re: HP 2530-48G-PoEP Switch - high memory and losing remote access
Hi akg7
I currently have no remote access to the switch - i did have one of my colleagues console on to it and i was able to run certain commands but not others
eg 'show run' or 'show run interface x' wouldnt work but i was able to view the mac address table and apply new configuration.
I will probably look to give it a reboot and try updated firmware but will also get the output of ' 'Show sys information' first

Thanks parnassus
I will give that a try - hopefully that does the trick.
