HP Sendmail on 10.01 MAPS Realtime Blackhole List
Is there any way that I can stay on HP 10.01 and avoid MAPS Realtime Blackhole List from www.mailabuse.com!
I down loaded Sendmail 8.8.6.v2 from www.software.hp.com. It Failed the test (a "quoted" RCPT TO: got thru - most relay's didn't)!
Does anyone out there know how to patch the CF file with the "Claus Assman" patches so that my system will go!
Is there any other HP 10.01 mail server I can run!
Upgrade is in the works, but not soon enough!
(I am running a lot of old software - including Oracle 7)

Re: HP Sendmail on 10.01 MAPS Realtime Blackhole List
look for the Anti-Spam section in your /etc/sendmail.cf file and uncomment the rules.create a /etc/sendmail.cR file and put in one line that states 'your domain'.

Yes that's what I did before testing!
Actually in the special cf file (smail_886_bundle_10_00.tar) I downloaded the rules were all ready uncommened. I maide Null files for all but the RelayTo wherein I put my domain.

Re: HP Sendmail on 10.01 MAPS Realtime Blackhole List
You could simply ditch sendmail altogether and install postfix instead. www.postfix.org.
It's sendmail compatible (that means invocation compatible) and way easier to configure.
I've been running postfix on my mailhub ever since the first public beta.

Postfix/BIND/Security/IDS/Scanner, you name it...
