HW Raid in Itanium server
Hello All,
I have server running on single disk.
Tue Sep 18 04:34:07 2012
---------- PHYSICAL DRIVES ----------
LUN dsf SAS Address Enclosure Bay Size(MB)
/dev/rdsk/c0t0d0 0x500000e113ba8442 1 1 286102
/dev/rdsk/c0t1d0 0x500000e11400eff2 1 2 286102
out of which on disk c0t1do . OS is installed
now question is if we user sasmgr for IR voulme creation and include this root disk will data loos ?
i want to add these disk in raid without any data loss .. can someone help me

Data on disk will be overwritten (lost) by creating the hardware raid. Consider to take an ignite backup, configure the disk and restore the backup.

Performing Hardware RAID on these disks would result in data loss..As Torsten suggested you would need to take Ignite backup, create the HW raid and then restore the image.
Alternatively you can also use the Software RAID (LVM mirroring) to configure the RAID on these disks.
