Linux Printer Driver

I am a linux newbie trying to learn more about how to work in it. Currently on my home system, I am running a triple boot with Win XP Pro, SuSE 8.1, and Mandrake 9.2. I also have an HP Deskjet 5850 printer. Neither of the 2 flavors of linux I have installed have a print driver for that particular printer. In looking on the HP website, I did not see any linux drivers available. Is there a printer driver for any version of linux for that printer? If so, where can I find it? If not, who would be the group to make it (i.e. HP, Linux manufacturer), and how can I contact them?
