New Window Manager

I would love to replace CDE with just about anything. I tried installing a depot of WindowMaker, but I get an error message saying that I need to run wmaker.inst. The depot doesn't come with it. Any thoughts or suggestions?

TIA

Re: New Window Manager

Yes ... Try getting hold ofthe KDE depot, I left CDE in place but used its startup scripts + an .xsession file to start KDE in preference to CDE.

Readme file was good .... and worked both on 10.20 & 11.xx ?

Re: New Window Manager

I would like to assign points to you guys, but I cannot login with my old ID any longer. Thanks for your help. I still am trying to find the SWDepot for KDE. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Re: New Window Manager

I don't have a URL to hand but the method I employed to find them was the following :

ran a search on Yahoo for KDE .... went to one of the numerous ftp mirrors for the s/w depot and picked and downloaded the README and KDE depots .... NB I think the latest version of KDE has just moved onto 2.xx
