NFS file locking HP-UX 11.00
I have recently begun working on an issue that involves a deprecated OS in HP-UX 11.00. The issue involves a response associated to a lock request being sent to storage.
This particular issue does not allow for an upgrade to the HP-UX version -- as I know this is handled differently in HP-UX 11.31. The particular hardware in question is not capable of upgrade but runs a significant portion of business process. There will obviously need to be a longer term plan for a hardware refresh in the near future.
So onto the issue:
HP-UX sends its lock requests to the cluster using NULL security and the storage denies the lock requests as a result. I'm wondering if there's a way to change this behavior on HP-UX. The interesting thing is that HP-UX does mount the export with AUTH_UNIX as its security type, but sends all of its lock requests with NULL security.
Any insight on changing the lock request string from HP-UX would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Dave
