Not able to login PAM error 11.11
Hi,
Yesterday we had a problem a non-trusted hp-ux 11.11 server, wouldn't let us login to the server, not even root via console, we could launch commands via a scheduler agent on the server, and we checked /etc/passwd and /etc/pam.conf(perms,strange characters) but nothing, also tried with passwd -d / -f , tried creating a new user but no luck.., I finally changed the system to trusted and all started to work again, these are the pam login errors for all users, the errors are similar as when the user doesn't exist in the system ..
Mar 9 12:08:15 psup02 login: pam_authenticate: error No account present for user
Mar 9 12:08:15 x login: pam_authenticate error
Mar 9 12:08:15 x login: pam_acct_mgmt: error No account present for user
Mar 9 12:08:19 x login: pam_authenticate: error No account present for user
Mar 9 12:08:19 x login: pam_authenticate error
Mar 9 12:34:40 x login: pam_authenticate: error No account present for user
Mar 9 12:34:40 x login: pam_authenticate error
Mar 9 12:34:40 x login: pam_acct_mgmt: error No account present for user
Mar 9 12:35:40 x login: exiting with return code 14
Any ideas why/how I system in non-trusted can lock down like that ?

Re: Not able to login PAM error 11.11
Not exactly an answer, but in this link you can check how to put pam in debug mode, so you get all pam debug info in syslog.
