rp7410 running 11.11 - UPS issue
Hi All,
We recenlty replaced the battery of a power trust II ups connected to a rp7410 running 11.11.
we had a power glitch for couple seconds and the system rebooted right away it did not use the 5 minutes setting in /etc/ups_conf:
shutdown_delay_mins:5
shutdown_timeout_mins:5
upstty:/dev/tty0p1:MSG_ONLY
we tested again by unplugging replugging within 1 minute and the same issue happened again. the system rebooted.
ps -ef: shows that ups_mond is running.
#ioscan -funC tty:
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
===================================================================
tty 1 1/0/0/0/0 func0 CLAIMED INTERFACE PCI BaseSystem (103c128d)
tty 0 1/0/0/0/1 asio0 CLAIMED INTERFACE PCI Serial (103c1048)
/dev/GSPdiag1 /dev/diag/mux0 /dev/mux0 /dev/tty0p0 /dev/tty0p1 /dev/tty0p2
ups_mond patch for 11.11 is installed.
Your help is much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Re: rp7410 running 11.11 - UPS issue
The problem might not be with your HP-UX system or the ups_mond configuration.
The problem may be that you got a bad battery. The symptoms you are describing sound like the UPS is not providing sufficient power to keep your system up and running when you pull the plug on the UPS.
Double check the UPS and try to verify that the battery is good.

Re: rp7410 running 11.11 - UPS issue
Patrick,
here's the output from kermit:
(/var/adm/syslog/) C-Kermit>set line /dev/tty0p1
(/var/adm/syslog/) C-Kermit>set speed 1200
/dev/tty0p1, 1200 bps
(/var/adm/syslog/) C-Kermit>set flow xon/xoff
(/var/adm/syslog/) C-Kermit>set carrier-watch off
(/var/adm/syslog/) C-Kermit>connect
Connecting to /dev/tty0p1, speed 1200.
The escape character is Ctrl-\ (ASCII 28, FS)
Type the escape character followed by C to get back,
or followed by ? to see other options.
----------------------------------------------------
??
B ---> Battery voltage (VDC) 271.0
F ---> UPS operating frequency 060.0
L ---> Input AC voltage (VAC) 203.8
O ---> Output AC voltage (VAC) 231.3
P ---> Load Power (% of UPS rated load) 040.0
R ---> Reserve power (runtime remaining with existing load in minutes)033.0
Thanks
