Samba RH 8.0 and XP

Once and for all please provide the appropriate reference to use. I am interested in sharing drives and peripherials. Linux server with win98/XP clients. Thanks

It looks like you might have hit new message instead of reply.

You also seem slightly annoyed about something, probably in some other thread.

I'm going to play soothsayer and try and figure out the question without the question.

You can use Samba on Red Hat 8.0 to share filesystems or part of filesystems with Windows 98 clients.

You can also share printers using samba.

You can not share other peripherals like modems on the Red Hat Server like that.

I know you don't need to do anything to Windows XP clients to connect to Samba shared mountpoints on your Linux Server.

I've never shared a printer so I don't know what's involved with that.
