SNMP in linux

How can I do to configurate snmp.conf in Redhat 6.0?
For example the private community (read only) and trap destination.
Thanks

Re: SNMP in linux

This isn't very hard to do. I'm uploading a blank configuration file from 7.3 which will probably work quite well in the 6.x world since snmp isn't changing that fast.

My file location is /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf, which might be different under 6.0

Just modify the file and run with it.

This doc has some information you may need considering port configuration on the internal firewall

Here is another doc
http://www.enseirb.fr/~kadionik/embedded/snmp/english/net-snmp_english.html

I am actually quite surprised how hard it was to find the docs I did find.
