xinitのエラー

いつもお世話になります。

＜環境＞

マシン：C8000 Workstation

ＯＳ：HP-UX 11i V1.0

上記環境で、「xinit /root/.x11start」でXの起動を行うと、以下のようなメッセージが出力されて正しく起動されません。

Unable to open the Graphics Resource Manager.

The /usr/lbin/grmd process can not be executed.

The X11 server must be able to communicate with the

Fatal server error:

GRM process.

giving up.

xinit: Connection refused (errno 239): unable to connect to X server

xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.

「http://h50221.www5.hp.com/cgi/service/knavi/production/doc_disp.cgi?category=45&doc=jnav000097」を参照し、対処してみたのですが、効果がありませんでした。

同じような症状を経験された方、回答お願いいたします。

ホームページを探していたところ、下記にて回答を得られました。

原因は、/のパーミッションが700であったことでした。これを７５５に変更したら、起動できました。

OSのインストールを行った後、特にパーミッションを変更するような作業はしていないのですが、なぜ７００になってしまったのでしょうか？

今後の参考にしたいと思いますので、回答よろしくお願いいたします。
