I’ve always assumed the phrase, Jack of all trades, master of none, meant that having general knowledge about many things is not sufficient, and specializing is what’s really important. That was until I researched the complete quote, which actually says: A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one. With the entire context around it, the meaning is quite different.  

I bring up this phrase because rapidly changing technology makes it difficult for telcos to master the numerous innovations needed to take advantage of the myriad of emerging 5G opportunities.
