Setting the standard for infrastructure platform consumption services
HPE has been recognized as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Infrastructure Platform Consumption Services, reflecting its strong planning, vision, and focus.
Just recently, HPE was named a Leader in 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Infrastructure Platform Consumption Services. This is a position I’m personally and professionally very proud of.
As someone who’s been deeply involved in shaping HPE’s cloud platform strategy for the past several years, I’m often asked: “What makes HPE stand out in the market?” My answer is that it is not just about platform, it’s about execution, vision, and a continued focus on customer outcomes. Let me share, from my perspective, how we made this achievement a reality.
Leadership is earned
In my opinion, this achievement didn’t happen overnight. For years, our team has been sharing our platform strategy with the market and our customers, which is GreenLake cloud. We have been focused on demonstrating how our innovations translate into real value for our customers. Today, GreenLake is the cloud, delivering a unified platform experience that allows enterprises to simplify IT, reduce costs, and transform faster.
A truly comprehensive platform as the foundation for innovative enterprises
What sets HPE apart is the breadth and depth of GreenLake services and our ability to deliver a unified experience. Of course, infrastructure as a service networking, compute, and storage is the foundation on which our customers have come to know and continue to rely on today. But we didn’t stop there. We’ve built out operational capabilities with HPE OpsRamp Software, and layer on value-added services, such as consumption analytics and HPE Sustainability Insights Center. These services work together to deliver outcomes that matter. It’s about helping customers accelerate innovation as they optimize costs, manage capacity, and see how their infrastructure is doing. All through a single pane of glass.
Platforms need to adapt and evolve at the pace of business demands
Customers require platforms that are adaptable to changing environments and evolving business needs, provide intelligent automation, and maintain consistency with robust control. One key differentiator is our ability to rapidly bring innovations to market. When I joined HPE approximately three years ago, our cloud platform offered only a couple of services. Today, we have expanded that portfolio to 18 services, driven by a strong foundational strategy and accelerated innovation. These advancements include enhanced IT sustainability features, consumption analytics, FinOps, and orchestration capabilities. Our platform now supports more than 44,000 customers globally,1 plus a significant managed service providers, spanning small, medium, and large enterprises. Within this diverse community, our solutions serve a wide range of personas from storage, network, and compute administrators, to system administrators, DevOps, FinOps, GreenOps, and cloud operations professionals.
How did we do it? By building the right foundational blocks, based on cloud native architecture, with robust APIs, a rich set of infrastructure data, and automation. These are the enablers that help us deliver agentic systems, bring new services to market faster, and empower our customers to accelerate and innovate.
The future is hybrid, intelligent, and customer-centric
GreenLake Intelligence is on the horizon, AIOps is here today, and our hybrid cloud platform is designed to address the complex needs of modern enterprises. Building on the strength of where we started with consumption-based, we are well-positioned with GreenLake to deliver agentic systems that are both intelligent and automated, because we’ve invested deeply in the foundational technologies required, and we are poised to now connect the intelligence available at various infrastructure layers to unleash new business outcomes for our customers. And we aren’t just domain-specific. We’re cross-domain, meaning customers can assess, observe. Manage, operate, govern, and control across multicloud and multivendor environments.
Outcomes matter
Let me offer a few examples. If a customer wants to accelerate AI value, we have turnkey AI private clouds used to drive speed and efficiency that can be managed by the platform. If a customer faces data challenges, we offer industry-leading storage that can be managed by the same platform. And if a customer wants to maintain an air-gapped site or address sovereignty needs, they can manage that too. That’s the unified experience the platform delivers that is so unique in the market. But it’s not just what you can do, but the outcomes you can achieve.
The result? Our customers get more than infrastructure. They get a cloud platform that evolves with their needs and puts them on the path to streamline IT operations, unify and secure data, and accelerate AI value.
Final thoughts
Success in today’s landscape requires more than just a strategy. You need a foundation that streamlines hybrid cloud, unleashes the power of your data, and equips your business to capitalize on AI’s potential. This is what we do best, and where we help customers each and every day. I’m personally proud of how far we’ve come, and even more excited about what comes next.
