3Com X5 3CRTPX5-U-96
My X5 have an issue, i dont k now why but the memory goes up, to over 90%, after i restart it has 85% and every thing is ok, but for some reasons after a couple of days goes up and never down. I have setup the nex things:
- 3 site to site VPNS.
- IPS and WebFiltering OFF.
- Works as My DHCP server for about 70 Users.
- I have VOIP with asterisk in my LAN
Do you guyd have an idea?

most of the performance issues (high CPU utilization) in tipping point platforms are because using a lot of DV filters in permit and notify fashion.
the notifications are most handled by CPU, so every time a DV filter fires, process a notification.
if you put in permit mode + notify every packet passin trough the IPS engine fires the filter and even a notification if the action set was configured in thay way.
do not configure the dv filters in that way, it is no intended for replace a network sniffer.
