Why Does My Request for an RSS Feed in Chrome Generate a Page of XML?

Why Does My Request for an RSS Feed in Chrome Generate a Page of XML?

This is a very common question - most current browsers have native support for RSS feeds but Chrome does not.

A common workaround is downloading an RSS feed reader extension of your choice from the Chrome Web Store.

Just to elaborate on the "why" part....

RSS Feed is nothing more than a document in XML format so the browser receives the XML document regardless whether Chrome (and fill in the blank here) has native support for RSS Feed or not.

In browser that supports RSS Feed, if you do a Right Click and View Source, you'd see the same XML document that Chrome displays.
