Which OS parameters should be modified after addon RAM?

ES80 原本是 RAM 10G, 打算加大到 48G, 請問除了 swap space 要跟著加大之外, 是否還有哪些 /etc/sysconfigtab 中的參數要修改呢? 是否有HP官方文件可參考?

It has more kernel parameters need to increase if (necessary) AP requirement.

Such as,

vm:

vm_page_free_target = 4096

..



proc:

max_proc_per_user=XXXX

max_threads_per_user=XXXX

per_proc_data_size=XXXX

max_per_proc_data_size=XXXX

per_proc_address_space=XXXX

max_per_proc_address_space=XXXX

maxusers=2048 (or 4096)

..

PS: Running the "sys_check" just has a little performance impact. Please don't worry to run it except you have a old OS patch kit on the Tru64 UNIX.

Our server is Tru64 5.1B, so I can run sys_check on it?

Hi Eric,



It's OK to run sys_check on V5.1B.

But I hope it has a new OS patch kit 4 (or 5) on it.

Because it maybe gotten a Kernel Memory Fault (KMF) panic while processing one tape I/O on V5.1B/PK2 (or PK1) without apply the cam_tape.mod patch.



How to trace the patch kit on V5.1B?

# grep AS00 /var/adm/patch/log/event.log

KITNAME..T64V51BB26AS0005-20050502. OSF540

# ===> It means the PK5 on V5.1B
