Yes the service is there it all looks the same as the Disaster ecovery box.

Hi Marco, Its the service for SQL Service Analysis, its (SQL2005) its not showing up in msconfig, the service is still running, msmdsrv.exe. just can't see it net start also says access denied.

Hi All, Long day, I was setting the permissions for users to start/stop a service. In the process removed everyone from the permissions, and now the servce does not appear in the services.msc. Does anyone know how to restoare permissions so that I can see the service again? Win2003Srv Thanks

Any ideas why System Management Homepage takes long to load? I've tried reinstalling the Home Page on the box but still get the same error. It will eventually load but does not show everything? Thanks

Hi all, still having some issues getting my VCA agents to connect to my VCRM. If in SIM, I click on Options --> Version Control Repository ... I get the message "The Version Control Repository Manager (VCRM) was not found on any discovered systems." My SIM (CMS Box) also hosts the VCRM, my question is how do I get SIM to identify the VCRM. I've tried software polling but that didn't help! Any help much apprciated

Scott I've tried that with no joy, I get the following message:- "The specified repository, hostname, is invalid or not reachable" So it seems there is a problem on the VCRM, but not sure what, or how to fix? Cheers

Thanks Rob, still battling away though. On my Sys Mng Home Page, under Version Control, I hve a lovely big green tick next to "HP Version Control Repository Manager" and a big blue question mark next to "HP Version Control Agent" However when I go to Change agent settings" on the VCA home page, I get the error "The specified repository, Server1, is invalid or not reachable." Does the repository need to be a share, or a hidden share? What is the VCA looking for that it can't find? Thanks in advance.

Hi Rob, Yes if I click on the green tick under HS it loads the MNGment page https://%hostname%:2381/ If I hover over the blue question mark I get an info pop up that states "SWStatus: Unkown - VC Agent not configured" If I click the question mark the Version Control Agent web page opens, and under Software Status says: Status cannot be calculated because a Version Control Repository Manager has not been named. Click on change agent settings to specify a Version Control Repository Manager. The VCA is installed on the box and the service is running, if I point it to another CMS box it works fine, it just won't pick up the new CMS box! Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Rob, did you mean the green arrow under the HS header? It takes me through to the System Management Homepage for the box, however the HP Version Control Agent has a nice blue question mark next to it? Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, I can't get my managed servers to see my VCRM, how can I check the trust between the two is configured correctly? Or how should I have set it up? Thanks

Hi Aest, Yes I can ping the CMS box from the managed server and vice versa, I have created a domain account that is a local admin on the CMS box and has full rights in SIM. Cheers

Hi All, I have built a new box 03 Srv, and installed SIM 5 on it. I have upgraded all the psp's on my managed servers and manually added them to SIM. I have created a certificate on the CMS box and added it on the managed servers when logging into the system management page. However I cannot configure the VCA, when I click on Hp Version control agent on the system management page, and change agent settings, I enter my cms box and get "The specified repository, #########, is invalid or not reachable." I have snmp setup and configured on the CMS box and the managed server. If I point the managed server to another CMS server it works fine!! Any help much appreciated. Cheers

I've been checking through the boxes, some do have the Version Control Agent installed some don't. They all HP Management Agents installed i.e Event Notifier Config, HP System Tools, Array config Util.
