I'm guessing it's implying that a flash card is running out of assignable blocks to use when one fails. I don't think it's referring to an SSD disk. But I'm not certain. I have a Nimble in [City1] that originally replicated a volume collection (VC) to #1 Nimble in [City2]. I successfully redirected that VC to #2 Nimble in [City2]. All good so far. My next step is to remove the replicated volumes from #1 Nimble. That's where I'm running into problems. I tried to delete the VC from #1 Nimble but got the error, "Before you can delete volume collections, you must disassociate any associated volumes." However, I can't figure out how to do that. For example, if I go to one of those volumes,  'EDIT' is grayed out, as is everything on the 'More Actions' drop-down menu. If I go to the VC screen, the only option that seems relelvant is 'PROMOTE', which says: "Promote" brings an entire replica set online as volumes. You would promote a volume collection to recover from the failure of an upstream replication partner. Where possible, the preferred alternative is to log into the upstream replication partner and perform a handover.  But that's not what I want to do. I just want to delete all these replicated volumes. Also, this page from HPE says: Important: You should only use promotion when the original array is unavailable. I have a Nimble CS700 that's no longer under support. Its web GUI is pretty much non-functional - as in, it will load but trying to do anything after that results in the red pop-up error about web services. At the CLI, most commands result in "Array management service unavailable. Operations may fail." I deduce from this that certain services that need to be running aren't running. So is there a way to list/start/stop/restart services from the CLI? ... View more

I'm running into problems getting one of my Nimbles (CS300, version 5.0.10.0) connected to vCenter (version 7.0 U1c). When I attempt to connect it to vCenter (using the 'administrator@vmware.local' account) I get the following error: "Check the vcenter hostname/port number or network connectivity" I'm able to ping the vCenter from the Nimble and vice versa. Per this integration guide, I've confirmed that vCenter can talk to the Nimble on TCP ports 443 and 8443. However, I've been unable to confirm that the Nimble can talk to vCenter on port 443 because I can't find a command in the Nimble CLI to do that and I haven't been able to find anything online that tells you how to do that. So, does anyone know how to test that connectivity from the Nimble side? And more generally, can anyone offer any advice on how to resolve this problem? Thanks! ... View more
