1810-24G inaccessible and unable to reset to factory defaults
Hi,
I've got 9 HP Procurve 1810-24G switches working fine for two years now, but none of them respond to the assigned IP. I can't ping them and I can't access the management page - It seems like the IP has disappeared. Nevertheless they seem to work fine.
I've tried to reset them to factory defaults following the steps exactly as pointed out in the manual. This worked fine with 2 switches after which I was able to access these switches and reconfigure them. I was unable to reset 7 out of 9 switches, although I followed exactly the same procedure as described in the manual - which worked fine in 2 cases.
Software version on the 2 switches I was able to access is P.1.17. I presume it's the same in the 7 unaccessible switches.
Does anyone have an idea how I can restore these switches?
Thanks.
Marc

Re: 1810-24G inaccessible and unable to reset to factory defaults
Hello ,
Please try following step for resetting the password
To execute the factory default reset on the switch, perform these steps:
1. Using a small, thin tool with blunt ends (such as a paper clip), simultaneously
press both the Reset and Clear buttons on the front of the switch.
2. Continue to press the Clear button while releasing the Reset button.
3. Release the Clear button.
The switch will then complete its self test and begin operating with its
configuration restored to the factory default settings.
After completing this procedure, there will be no password, the IP address
will be returned to the default 192.168.2.10, and all configuration settings will
be returned to factory defaults.
