HPE OfficeConnect 1920 EoS: comparison with HPE OfficeConnect 1920S
Hello all,
given that the HPE OfficeConnect 1920 Switch Series [*] is going to enter on its EoS phase on August, 31st 2017 and suggested replacement Switch Series is the new HPE OfficeConnect 1920S Switch Series (as reference, read here and here)...I'm curious to know if someone out there has done some basic comparisons between the two series...will the suggested Switch Series replacement be worth the proposed change or better to move on considering other Comware (or ArubaOS-Switch) based series?
I noticed that, generally, new HPE OfficeConnect 1920S Switch Series lacks of (or owns less) SFP ports if compared to old 1920...and also it looks like not Comware 5.20 based as 1920 is (no matter if the Comware 5.20 used on 1920 was "stripped down" in terms of functionalities due to the underlying Hardware available resources and Switch Series positioning).
Just curious...
Edit: [*] interesting to learn that 1920 switches were only marketed less than 3 years ago (they were released on September 2014) - see here - as replacement of 1910 (Gigabit) declared EoS for 2015.
I'm not an HPE Employee
