Logging in to HP Procurve 1810G24 switch
More than a year ago I had a HP Procurve 1810G24 switch installed on my home LAN. I cannot find the manual, and even if I did, I doubt it would help. I am trying to find out what the IP address of the device is on my network. I assume with the IP address I can log in to the device interface? My question is, how can I determine what the IP address of the device is, and next, how would I access the web interface for the device once I have the IP?
Thanks.

Re: Logging in to HP Procurve 1810G24 switch
Well, the default IP address of the 1810 series of switches is "192.168.2.10". So you could change your NIC to static on that network and put the default IP in a web browser to see if you get the HP Switch login page.
If the switch management IP was changed then you can either use an IP scanner to look for the responding address or reset the switch to facotry defaults using the link below. (keep in mind this will erase any custom configs you made)

Re: Logging in to HP Procurve 1810G24 switch
When I use a web browser and enter 192.168.2.10 in the address bar and press ENTER I get a timeout error:
The connection has timed out
The server at 192.168.2.10 is taking too long to respond.
Pining 192.168.2.10 likewise times out.
Can you recommend an IP scanner?

Re: Logging in to HP Procurve 1810G24 switch
You are probably forgetting to temporarily set your PC's IP address to 192.168.2.20. Until you do, you cannot connect to the switch.
