Routing a to gateway on a different subnet with V1910 24G
Hi,
We are joining somes offices that each have their own subnet (192.168.x.x) with a new fiber wan. In the past, each had their own gateway (192.168.x.1) and wan connectivity was over the internet via a netscreen router.
The new setup is joining each of the subnets via fiber VLan with a V1910 switch at each location. All outbound internet traffic will now be via one gateway @ 192.168.0.2.
The switches are located @ 192.168.x.30. x being 2,3 & 5
The gateway is a Cisco ASA 5510
My questions are
1) Can I do the routing to the new gateway with current setup
2) If 1 is yes can I get some guidence
3) Can I get some gudence on the VLan setup
Thank you, in advance.
Tony

Re: Routing a to gateway on a different subnet with V1910 24G
Sorry mate, but that's a no can do.
Think about a subnet as a house. Default Gateway is the door out and in. If your door is in house number 1, it's not very likely that you can use that for entering or exiting houses 2, 3 and 4 down the road, right?
Therefore DGW for a subnet must always be on the same subnet.
