Binary compatible RX2620 ~ BL860C

Hi,

We're planning a hardware migration from
RX2620 to BL860C.

Both source & target system will be running on Windows 2003, SAP with Oracle 10.2

Our main concern is wether both platforms are 100% binary compatible.
-> If so, we can do a backup/restore of the database.
-> If not, we'll have to perform an export/import, which is more time consuming.

Regards,
Ben

Shalom Ben,

If they are both IA-64 Itanium servers then they are compatible.

Re: Binary compatible RX2620 ~ BL860C

Ben,

The *only* concern I would have is that the BL860 might need to be on a newer windows service pack/integrity essentials than the BL860. The SAP/Oracle binaries will certainly be compatible.
