BL35p Boot from SAN, Can't install Emulex Drivers using virtual floppy
I am trying to setup the BL35p to boot from the SAN. When I am installing Win2003 Enterprise Edition I am able to boot using the a ISO image on the virtual cd. I hit F6 to install additonal drivers. It gets to the point where it asks for my driver floppy. I mount a ISO file of my HBA driver. Hit return and then it hangs and I have to hit the virtual power button to restart the system.
For the virtual floppy I just added the driver files to a CD image and created a ISO.
Did I do this part wrong? What's the format of the virtual floppy?
My iLO is 1.84.

Re: BL35p Boot from SAN, Can't install Emulex Drivers using virtual floppy
Hi Chatch,
We had to do the same with BL20p and BL25p servers.
You need to enable the BIOS on the SAN mezzanine card. Ensure the device only sees one path to the LUN that you want to use for Windows. Configure the BIS for P2P and force 2GB.
Windows has a basic driver that will complete the installation, patch and add right drivers after windows installation is complete.

Re: BL35p Boot from SAN, Can't install Emulex Drivers using virtual floppy
Thanks I actually got it figured out this weekend. I was making the virtual floppies incorrectly.
Since I don't have any physical floppy drives I found a virtual floppy program that let me format and copy files to a img file. It is called VFD.
