CA arcserve v12 and windows 2003/2008 backup problem

I don't get CA arcserve worked on Windows 2003/2008 on HP proliant server.
i can format/erase tape.
but i cat get my backup job worked.
it stays in HOLD state after READY and Waiting for Target state.
i used different LTO, DAT drive and FSD too but no luck.
older version of CA arcserve doesn't get installed on windows 2008 system.

I have the same issue. I have applied SP1 and the latest device update (4). Have also tried DAT and LTO.

Did you resolve the issue

I had the same problem on SBS 2003 SP2, even after installing all updates.

Stopping & disabling Removable Storage, then also disabling the tape-drive in Computer Management, then a server reboot solved my problem.

(At the same time I also removed the SQL2005 ArcserveDB and made a new instance, but I don't think that was part of the solution)
