copy files from mounted folders

I mounted the folder from a remote server, copied over w2k3sp2 to a local dir then unmounted the folder. I went to run the sp however it kept erroring saying it couldn't find a dll in the ilo2 folder (which was the mounted one) however it shouldn't be looking there as the file is local. I tried another exe ie winrar same problem. I then remounted the folder copied the files back over and ran whilst the remote folder was still mounted worked fine. Although I have a work around seems strange to me that the folder should be mounted to make it work so thinking I am doing something incorrectly. cheers

Re: copy files from mounted folders

When you say 'mount' are you referring to mapping a drive? If so, does it work with a different drive letter mapping (e.g. Z: vs. X:)?

I'm wondering if the installer is referencing a certain drive letter instead of a UNC path (e.g. \\server01\sharefolder).

Re: copy files from mounted folders

Sorry I should have made myself clearer this is mounting when working with blade chasis environment so it's not like mapping. You can't actually dictate your drive letters. It worked fine yesterday so just seems to be some quirk of some kind. Would be good to know why it's not consistant though as I am sure I am doing something to cause it.

Re: copy files from mounted folders

You are referring to the Virtual media option in iLO that allows you to mount an ISO/local drives remotely to the blade you are working with? If that's the case, I can only guess that something isn't getting closed correctly when the dismount happens? Perhaps this is your work around, but I'd try mounting, copying, dismounting, logging out and back in to see if the 'reset' of the iLO does the trick.
