DL320 G5p enabling RAID with existing drive

For some reason, my RAID 1 on this server was turned off. It had 2 drives, now they show up as separate drives and RAID is disabled in BIOS setup. When I try to enable RAID thru setup, a warning appears that all data will be lost on drives.
I removed drive 1 and the server is running a Drive 0. I want to enable RAID 1, they add a second drive and have it automatically mirrored. Id I enable RAID, will it wipe out the data on drive 0?

Re: DL320 G5p enabling RAID with existing drive

hi FredM,
For some reason i can`t assure data(but make sure bkp)..but worked me:
option 1: remove drive0 and keep safe,if u have 2 empty drive(same modal) fix and make new raid config as like earlier(make sure raid level optimal)...then power off server and remove both HDD,as new drive0 port connect old drive0(data drive) and power on,boot os(if req use safe mode)after succesfull start.connect hot-insert drive1(blank)so automatically raid will rebuild on drive1..(its slow may u have downtime use raid console itself while drive 0 avilable time hot insert drive1(blank) so rebuilding will start.
option2:-if u have raid config bakup restore from webconsole or biosconsole so it will detect which replaced(faild)rebuild start automatically.(be sure which hdd faild there u need to connect blank disk)
all the best..
