this is very urgent, hope someone can help me here.
i just got that new machine (hp pavilion x2408) w/ Windows VISTA installed on it. I uninstalled vista and installed windows 2003 Server; the ethernet controller, pci com controller , sm bus controller are not working/recognized by the os.

Re: ethernet adapter not working (hp pavilion on win2003 server)
Could you post the Exact Pavilion model ?
Also, if the model does not support win2k3, you find the drivers listed;
However, if you know the exact type of the ethernet-NIC card then you can install it;
SM bus controller is the Chipset controller;
Regards,
James.

If you are talking about the desktop/pavilion / dv2400 series (dv2408 ..) there's not support available for Windows 2003, probably you could find drivers but from alternate locations.
Best regards,
Marco
