existing partitions do not allow a new partition
i was trying to have a new partition on my new laptop(hp-presario CQ56. i shrinked the existing C: from 200Gb to 100 GB. but could not create the new partition. it has one recovery partition (D:) and two are hidden partitions. after reading the threads in this forum, discovered that one cannot have more than 4 partitions on the disk. thats the reason for not being able to create a partition
please suggest what can i do to have additional partition? in earlier hp laptops, only one hidden partition was there, that allowed cvreation of one partition
please help

Re: existing partitions do not allow a new partition
You can have only four primary partitions, or three primary partitions and one extended partition where you can create more partitions. So if you already have four primary partitions then delete only of those and recreate that as extended partition.
