File Archiving solution details

Hello,

I'm looking at file archiving solutions details.

Let's say I have a Windows 2003 server, connected a 2TB LUN hosted on a FC SAN. Right now, everything is hosted and backed-up from the FC disks. I would like to archive old (here not accessed since 2 months) data to a low cost storage. But those data still have to be accessible to users without operations from the IT.

As far as I understand HP web site, I would need the "HP File Archiving software" and some low-cost storage.

I'd like to check if that first thought is right.

Then, if so, I'd like to know:
- where is this software installed ? on the file server or on another dedicated server ?
- does the software work with SAN LUN and/or NAS shared (for the low-cost side) ?

Thank you.
