File sharing with Macintosh
Hello!
Want to ask for your help regarding Windows 2003 and appletalk file sharing. The problem is when I tried to open a windows 2003 shared appletalk folder to macintosh workstations (OS9) I was not able to copy a file to it. The error message is the folder is locked. I can see a lock symbol on it.
Hope that you could help me on this.
Regards,
LAT

Re: File sharing with Macintosh
This addresses OS X, but the fix may still apply. It has to do with the encryption being applied at the 2003 server for the Appletalk file share. You want to use the Apple Clear Text authentication method for the connection.

Re: File sharing with Macintosh
Hi there,
Also by default ANY new Mac shares are marked as READ ONLY by the system.
Yo change this when you create a Mac share you must use compmgmt.msc > Shared Folders >(individual share)
Right click the share in question and de select the "this volume is read only" chack box.
All will be fine then :-)
