HP DL380 2 Node MS Windows Enterprise Clustering and windows Domains
I have a requirement to configure 2 x HP DL380 systems as a 2 node cluster using MS Windows 2003 Enterprise as a Active/Passive failover solution. As Windows CDomain controller will not be available, can someone indicate if it would be possible to install both physical nodes with as 2 seperate active domain controllers and then to cluster the physical nodes to support HA application file sharing ?

Re: HP DL380 2 Node MS Windows Enterprise Clustering and windows Domains
Mark,
Yes, you can have both nodes as domain controllers and run ur applications on these nodes. The only condition is both of the nodes should be domain controllers. you cannot mix one domain controller and one member server.

Patrick

Yes, you can configure your cluster nodes as domain controllers, but is not recommended by microsoft.
See the details in the attached file.

Re: HP DL380 2 Node MS Windows Enterprise Clustering and windows Domains
If file sharing is your main requirement, please consider other option. This is because when you get into trouble with the configuration, Microsoft support is limited. Clustering is complicated technology!
You may consider a low-end NAS solution with integrated sharing.
