HP Team Error

I am receiving a warning message listed below on my DL360 G4 server about every 30 seconds.

Type: Warning
Source: CPQTeamMP
Event ID: 434
Event Time: 2/6/2006 3:32:22 PM
User: n/a
Computer: abc123
Description:
HP Network Team #1: PROBLEM: A non-Primary Network Link is not receiving. Receive-path validation has been enabled for this
Team by selecting the Enable receive-path validation Heartbeat Setting.
ACTION: Please check your cabling to the link partner. Check the switch port status, including verifying that the
switch port is not configured as a Switch-assist Channel. Generate Broadcast traffic
on the network to test whether these are being received. Also make sure all teamed NICs are on the same broadcast domain. Run diagnostics to test card. Drop the NIC from the team, determine whether it is receiving broadcast traffic in that configuration.

This server is the Domain Controller for two other servers. The second server is a Citrix server and the IMA Service keeps ending periodically.

When I check my network monitoring software, (Whats Up), the server down message is the same as the second server's (Citrix)IMA Message.

I have switched out cables and changed ports, but the message still appears.

Is this a firmware or hardware issue?

Thank you

Re: HP Team Error

Teaming uses heartbeat frame as redundancy mechanism, that message means second NIC is not getting the heartbeat frame sent from the primary NIC.

Can you provide the switchport configuration and hpnetsvy (from command prompt hpnetsvy >filename.txt)

Re: HP Team Error

If you have 2 switches and have the NICs on your server split between them for added redundancy, make sure you have your NIC Team Type set to NFT instead of "Auto".

Re: HP Team Error

I have the same problem. Mine is a web server. I've done the above. When I physically switch cable to opposite switches, the problem follows to the previously good connection. I've even used two new ports with the same results. I've also upgraded the PSP with no change. Connecting both nics to the same switch maintains connectivity with no errors.
