Installing LaserJets to a 2003 Cluster Problem

I'm in the HP Customer Care Center and got a call from a customer with problem installing print drivers to a Virtual Cluster in 2003 and could not use our online drivers to do it. Anyone else have this problem or can offer a solution?

There are two types of clusters in Windows Server 2003:

Network Load Balancing - sharing virtual Printers are possible, but not at all recommended for many practical reasons.

MSCS - 2-8 node cluster where servers share a common piece of storage, often in the form of a SAN.

Printers should be very possible and are supported in this configuration.


A standard printer-driver is needed (meaning bidirectionality or GDI printing is not good for this type of setup). I think the most appropriate drivers are often labeled "corporate version" on the download pages.
