Installing MS Windows 2003 Server Standard Edt on HP DC7600
Hi,
I'm trying to install the above mentioned OS on a HP DC7600 but the OS is not recommended for installation in the machine. Anybody tried installing it on a DC7600? Any things i should take note of? Your replies will be muchly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Leonard

Hi,
I have never tried it, but I think it works. Perhaps not so fast/stable.
Regards

Re: Installing MS Windows 2003 Server Standard Edt on HP DC7600
We have several windows 2003 installations on DC7100 and DC5100. It works great.
Of course, it is not recommended to use desktop PC as server. We use desktops with windows 2003 only in test environment and for not-critical server applications.
We use windows XP drivers from HP site, and windows 2003 Broadcom network drivers from Broadcom site.

Re: Installing MS Windows 2003 Server Standard Edt on HP DC7600
I've tried installing the OS. It seems the drivers for the NIC card and the audio is not being detected. After which i installed the NIC card driver and it seems working fine. But when i tried to install update for the audio (HDA) or the UAA update, it seems i need to connect to internet for the small update. I've downloaded and tried installing the XP SP2 UAA update, it prompts error thus i can't continue.
Is connecting to internet for update for the audio only solution?
After i connected to the internet, the driver update seems working but i do get an exclamation mark on the audio device. After updating to service pack 1, everything seems ok.
Are my procedures correct?
Leonard
