MSCS configuration problem in Itanium
Hi Folks,
I am trying to implement a Microsoft cluster on 2 * rx7620 (itanium) systems. This is Windows 2003 Enterprise edition for 64-bit Itanium systems. The servicepack SP1 is in place. We also installed support pack earlier.
The storage is through EVA5000 running on VCS 3.025. I have allocated 2 LUNs and presented them to both the nodes.
When I try to configure the cluster, the following message is found,
0x0713de quorum disk could not be locatedby the cluster service.
While configuring, the "Advanced option" was chosen for the quorum disk, as per some workaround suggested in the internet.
I am not able to see the EVA disks as the cluster resource.
Any suggestions will be rewarded with points.
With regards,
Mohan.

Re: MSCS configuration problem in Itanium
Hi Folks,
I know this is a Sunday and hence was not expecting quick replies.
But I managed to solve the issue. Below is the details of the solution.
Solution:
---------
1) Removed the LUNs and recreated them at EVA
2) Presented to the Servers
3) Formatted them as MBR partitions
As per a document I refrenced in the below URL, It was by default GPT,
http://searchstorage.techtarget.com/tip/1,289483,sid5_gci1070707,00.html?bucket=ETA
Once we reformatted the partitions as an MBR, the microsoft cluster got configured and worked like a charm.
Hope somebody benefits out of this experience in the future.

Mohan.

Re: MSCS configuration problem in Itanium
Configured all the EVA LUNs as MBR partitions now, as indicated in the above post.
Now my work returns back to sanity :-)
