name server problem

I am new to web hosting. I had my website hosted at godaddy and wanted to host at home. So I set names servers
ns1.firsttec.net
ns2.firstec.net

Now setting up DNS on a server with a static ip 174.77.77.238

I have had no luck, in setting DNS up.
I need help with what files need to be created
and where I referance ns1 and ns2.

I am using the DNS manager. If I had examples on how to set it up would be great

Can anyone help me please?

Re: name server problem

I'm not sure what your problem is?

- You've got a windows 2003 server (as this is the 2wk3 forum)
- the dns- service is enabled
- you've created a forward lookup zone firsttec.net
- this server has a public ip-adress 174.77.77.238
- this server is ns1
- another server is ns2 with (another address)

=> you need your provider to "delegate" dns for this zone to your server 174.77.77.238
