Proliant DL 360 G4 USB Boot Question

If I've formatted the USB drive, lets say a 1GB drive, can I boot that and then use a Windows Server 2003 setup image that's also on the USB drive to install the OS?

Should I create just one partition that uses the entire key drive? Thanks!

You should create only one partition. The Windows Server 2003 family does not include Setup disks. To boot with your usb disk, you need to writa a bootable image, and that is not available.

Re: Proliant DL 360 G4 USB Boot Question

So then my best option might be to boot from a USB CD? There's no built in CD on the server.

I guess I'm looking at it from a disaster recovery standpoint, I can boot the USB, load the necessary drivers from the 2003 source cd, and recover from tape.

In other words, I could use the ASR files for booting the USB just as one would from a floppy?
